Yes the GTX 470 don't have to overclock a whole bunch to beat the HD5870 and plus you have Phys-x .I can run my at default voltage at 775/3700 and the afterburner software is great. Even when I had my HD5870 running at 1000/5000 it was not that much faster.the GTX470 scales much better when overclocking it.

While what John said is true, it scales better... I just don't know if I'd repeat my 285 upgrade again.
I came from almost an identical system, a 285 to a 470, and it wasn't a huge increase.... Just my $.02
