Froyo is out for EVO

both LEDs. It also has 3 settings. Dim, bright, and super bright. super will make you see red spots.

Just kind of funny someone is excited because it made their phone into a flashlight.

Yah, my friend dl'd it OTA and activated it in the elevator and nearly blinded us

2 LED's > the single LED for the iPhone 4 but I think max brightness of individual LED's was about the same.

He seemed to lose some of his settings, and had some issues with SWYPE, but the phone was definitely faster and smoother and lots of new items to play with too I thought it was a pretty substantial update and I can't wait to see what this will do for devices like the Dell Streak.

It has given a nice little battery bump too.

I always take it off charge at 3 AM. By 8 PM next day I have to charge it, because it's in yellow. It's 10:37pm now and still in green.

Getting excited that a phone can act like a flashlight is like getting excited Windows 7 can add numbers with it's calculator.

I've gotten really good battery life by using the DamageControl rom. I often go 3 days before I need to charge it. It'll be interesting to see what kind of battery life DC does with froyo.

It's just another one of the little bonuses that might not seem like much, but once you have it you wonder how you lived without it. I think the phone is almost like a swiss army knife anymore. It can be a phone, camera, flashlight, MP3 player, GPS, compass, radio, video player. Not only that once you have the internet you can use it for finding all kinds of information.

I'm hopefully going to get either an EVO or a droid X this year, which will be my first smartphone. It will be amazing to have a device that can do all of those things anywhere you take it. I'm just thinking of being out camping somewhere and how nice it would be to just have the phone in your pocket and you're covered for most of your electronic devices. If only it had a lighter... (Maybe just bang the side of the phone up against something for sparks...)

Uhm...you can also use it as a bubble level, gieger counter. To get the Geiger counter, download the app Tricorder (from Star Trek), goto magnetic flux, and then look at Absolute Magnitude. Tricorder is fully functional, not just a toy. It will even tell you how many solar flares we've had!
