dunno if you would see much difference. the jump from 2 to 4 is huge, but other than that, dunno.

I'm running 6Gb and it's more than enough. I was thinking about getting another 6 (tripple channel) but after looking into it and doing some testing, there is no reason I need anymore than 6 right now. I can open and run so many programs at once it's really amazing.

4GB is more than enough. Spend the money on something more noticeable.

Buy an SSD for a boot drive if you want to speed up your PC. Like I have said many times before, it's the best money I have spent on my build.

It's not just the boot times. Web browsers open almost instantly. You can put small programs like adobe reader, anti-virus, office...ect. After putting a 40Gb SSD in my machine, the PC seem so much more responsive doing everyday tasks. I would highly recommend it.

Let us know how the new RAM turns out.

Shani.
For Windows XP, it is. For Windows 7 64-bit, you need 4GB for the best experience. Anything beyond that is overkill at the moment UNLESS you use a program that makes use of the extra memory.

I thought with Win 7 there was no longer a hard cap on how much ram the OS would use? Or is this not the case?
