Things aren't looking good with the RAID card.

I guess for one, Acronis sees the raid as two hard drives. Therefore this is pointless.

Boot up to a Win7 disc and it can't see the RAID. Boot up to my old Win7 hard drive, download the drivers and try again. FINALLY Win7 sees the RAID and I'm able to start installing.

Now to reload Win7 and restore some files.

I'm done with this card, it just doesn't work. Even after the Win7 install, it just BSODs like crazy.

Screw RAID I'm getting an SSD. Now to figure out what to do with these hard drives lol.

No, the Rosewill card is this one:

I'm just done and getting a SSD for my OS drive.

So which one should I get?

or

Wow can't believe you wasted your time with that POS. I have a RR 3510 I will sell you if you are interested. Then you can grab two intel SSD's for Raid 0 and be so fast your cup will bottleneck.

I just can't bring myself to spend that much money on the ssd's. If I made my living with my computer I would do it in a heartbeat.

Meh, I just wanted something that worked. Obviously it didn't.

I would like to grab a SSD for about $100-ish just to get one/mess around with one.

The bad thing about doing some thinking on SSDs is that I know that these things are horribly priced. Maybe I can do a little more looking around and see if there is anything else I can upgrade.

It's very tempting. The Kingston drive is easier on the wallet but I really like WD better for HDDs. I'm gonna sleep on it and see what I think tomorrow. I'd really like to buy one just to see what all the fuss is about. And even at this point, there really isn't anything else to upgrade unless I want to upgrade half of the machine (CPU, RAM, Mobo).

Look at what went on sale this morning over at Newegg:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-20227394-L09A

Not a bad price for a OCZ SSD, at least this is supposed to be a higher quality drive than the Kingston I posted earlier. I'm honestly thinking about pulling the trigger on this one instead of looking for a better PCI Express 1x RAID card . . . but I still can't justify spending that much money right now on just 60GB. I may just hold off for a few weeks and see what pops up . . . I dunno.

Birthday finally rolls around next week, but we went ahead and celebrated tonight. Look at what's on it's way to me for next Tuesday:

I've also ordered a Silverstone 2.5 to 3.5 adaptor, it holds two SSDs so I can get another one for Christmas!
