Nice machine. Go for it, and then maybe get another 465 in there later on.

I would recommend the 1GB 460 and the 930. No sense in wasting money on a 940 when you can overclock the 930.

The 940 was a free upgrade, it didn't cost anymore. I went ahead and changed it to 2 EVGA 460's superclocked 1g cards running in sli. Hoping the 800w psu will be enough on the power end.

Then by all means, AWESOME upgrade for the same price. Also, the 2 SLi 460's will perform very well. 800w should be enough for 460. I was originally going for a 460 in my rig and when I did i remember reading PSU requirements were quite low.

Thanks Bearclaw, yeah I believe it was a required 400psu or 450. After looking at a ton of benchmarks for SLI early this morning I figured what the heck and went ahead and sent the sales dept. a couple emails. They're going to pull the order and make the requested change.

All and all I'm even more psyched now than when I first placed the order a couple days ago.

since you already ordered it, there is no hope of change

but few things hat could have been done differently

1)930 instead of 940, its cheaper, the 100mhz will not make it faster, and 930 can be OC'ed near 4ghz anyway EDIT: just seen the 940 free upgrade comment, if it didn't cost extra is fine.

2)not a fan of that case, but that depends on visual prefference

3)why did you buy SATA III hard drive, its a waste of money, Hard Drives still can't max out SATAI (yes first generation) max bandwith, SATA III for Hard Drive really not necessary. SSD are different story, SSD can benefit from SATAIII

Eh it was mostly modifying an already put together package deal that had a low base price. I'm not entirely picky when it comes to cases or HD speeds or anything of the sort. As long as it plays the titles I'm interested well enough (a smooth 50-60 fps) on whatever drivers work best (part of why I tend to stick with Nvidia parts, ATI's drivers have always had the most issues since the rage pro days in my experience with ATI cards at least) Thats good enough for me.

I mean I've been on the same machine for 6 or 7 years so I prolly don't fit into the super hardcore demographic to begin with I guess.

At any rate my changes went through on going with the Dual EVGA 460's SC in SLI so I'm sure I'll be content with perfomance, especially compared to what I'm used to with this ol aging gal here.

Thanks for the information on solid state drives and their advantages over SATA drives tho Nekro, I hadn't know that before and its definately something I'll keep in mind moving forward. Thanks again for the reply.

Weird, the invoice Cyberpower mailed me has a i7-950 3.06GHZ 8M LGA 1366 instead of the i7-940 2.93. Hoping I didn't get charged extra, considering I tacked on extra for a second video card. Anyone have any prior experience with Cyberpower?

Well did you get charged more than you thought you were going to be charged?
