Hi i see a lot of yellow blurry blocks on the screen:
![]() the blocks are not fixed on the screen they change their position as soon as the screen content changes. Sometimes the even vanish, but sadly they also always come back sooner or later... this happens with differnt versions of the nvidia driver, tested it with gentoo and ubuntu. Code:
lspci -v 04:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G98 [GeForce 8400 GS] (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 16 Memory at fd000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16M] Memory at d0000000 (64-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M] Memory at fa000000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=32M] I/O ports at ec00 [size=128] [virtual] Expansion ROM at febe0000 [disabled] [size=128K] Capabilities: [60] Power Management version 3 Capabilities: [68] MSI: Enable- Count=1/1 Maskable- 64bit+ Capabilities: [78] Express Endpoint, MSI 00 Capabilities: [100] Virtual Channel <?> Capabilities: [128] Power Budgeting <?> Capabilities: [600] Vendor Specific Information <?> Kernel driver in use: nvidia Kernel modules: nvidia greetings boing PS: the process to register to this forum is a major PITA. Especially if you have those blocks on screen and have to decipher those crappy captchas :-( Last edited by boing; 10-01-10 at 12:51 AM. Reason: bug report attached... |

Try using the nv driver to see if you can replicate it with that driver. If the issue persists there chances are that it is your video card failing.
