go microsoft, bring us cartoony Age of Empires!

i wonder how they will manage to screw up flight simulator, really doubt that they were able to put the old team together.

they probably will turn the game from full blown simulator that people used to learn to fly, to something pathetic that you play with 360 gamepad.

The old team started up their own company iirc, and did anyone else watch the pathetic teaser vid on the flight page?

yeah I did, CGI video wasn't bad, but what apears like a screenshot of a plane on front page and the character on right seem really pathetic.

i'm quite certain they will change it arcade game with stupid missions and 360 gamepad support.

From the leaked M$ survey that hit Avsim a year or so back it seems that they are more interested in making a mission based "game" with smaller high detailed area's than a full blown NextGen fight sim,i think it will go that way & end up with some kind of career mode where you work your way up from utralights to tube liners, and each area you unlock will have a freeflight mode.....thats the jist i got from the question they were asking

as a Simmer & FS freeware dev i think there barking up the wrong tree, ppl who are interested in Flight are interested in flight sims, but hey if they release mod tools so it can be dev'ed into a full flight sim then cool,i'll keep an eye on it for now

AoE kinda looks like Fat Princess without all the blood.

MS seems to be following a pattern for the last 10 years. We are not going to do another FS sim anytime soon. Fire the team and then start it up all over again.

While FSX is a pretty good sim it requires a lot of addons to make it really good. If they change the premise to be more mission based I think they might lose some audience. Hard to say because FS are not usually suited to the masses. That isn't to say they don't sell well but most of the younger crowds are jumping on StarCraft II.

AoE looks nice graphically. I like the style, just hope its not a gimped RTS.

You guys do know AoE online is being developed by Robot Entertainment, formely known as Ensemble right? Kind of ironic, considering the fact that they were let go by Microsoft.
