Heh, I just bought DS 1 on steam for $6.99...

The only game I'd ever dish out $60 for would be a complete and proper HL3 that scored 100%+ across the board from all popular review sites and blew the minds and expectations of every gamer, delivering 10-fold what we could have possible expected.

As that will likely never happen, I'll just as likely never pay $60 for a game.

Will likely be getting this on Steam since its the cheapest I can buy it and I like Steam. Hope I can get a preload though.

I really don't see why there is such a big deal over $60 games. Next gen console games might be $70 anyway.

What logical reason is there for a $20 hike in the price of games? Especially recycled titles such as every CoD since MW. Let alone a $10 hike?

Not woth it, imo. Others disagree, that's fine- let them spend the extra money. The devs just wont get that from me till it's much, *MUCH* cheaper. At the rate the prices have been I'll probably not buy any of the recent CoD (CoD:MW2 and on) untill 10 years from now.

The one that says it costs more money to make games than it did 5 or 10 years ago? More developers, more testers, more management roles eating the money for no reason. More voice work, more pay for voice actors, more motion cap. Graphics increase, more detailed art is required to meet demands of gamers.

The audience hasn't increased nearly as much as the development costs have in the last few years.

I'm not saying the costs are justified and I'm not saying a yearly release of a game that would take 3 years to make is a good thing. I'm just saying it costs more these days.
