You're in luck - the latest instalment in the popular Medal of Honor video game franchise will let you play as a Taliban soldier plotting against the Coalition troops in Afghanistan.

The media really turns my stomach sometimes. For most gamers the multiplayer will mean nothing more than a game of football. Also players have been playing GLA for years with Generals, not to mention Counterstrike, both games in a lot of ways represent current conflicts.

I feel for families who have lost loved ones, but I'd rather leave it up to the guys who are fighting to object. I know guys who have been to and have returned to Afghanistan, East Timor, and they love the CoD and Medal of Honor games.

What about Battlefield Vietnam? You get to play as Vietnamese soldiers who did unspeakable things to US soldiers, and you get to play as US soldiers who did unspeakable things to the Vietnamese.

Big difference is this war is happening now. @nekro These are Australian families I believe (Though I can imagine all families of Coalition troops might have something to say). They've had a rough few months, so it's bad timing for EA. I wouldn't be surprised if EA delay the release in AU if the media doesn't let this one go. I can't see the game getting banned, not enough violence and no sex.

It's a tough subject. On one hand other games have done the modern warfare setting, but brought back old enemies like the Russians, while other 'realistic' games have been set in wars past. Perhaps EA jumped the gun with this game? Then again as mentioned ARMA lets you play as Taliban and more, maybe it's just MoH's hype biting it's own bottom.
