I thought Intel did this last year with the Core i5 650. It has integrated graphics and CPU on one chip.

Also, since ATi makes the graphics for the 360, they would have had a hand in this new chipss development.

Microsoft has nothing to do with this other then buying the chips. IBM designed and manufactured the chip. I also don't think it can be compared since their "to market" is in a closed console vs as a chip any consumer can buy on its own.

Heck, the PS2 had its CPU anmd GPU combined when it went to the slim model...
