Default 480 SLI and micro-stuttering in Mafia 2

Hey guys, I am playing Mafia 2 on my system which is an Intel Corei7 (quad) 760 at 3.6 MHZ; dual EVGA 480's in SLI and 12 GB of Ram. I have a Vortex SSD and even witht his set-up I notice micro-stuttering. I am allowing the PHysx drivers in Nvidia Control to use optimal setting (not dedicating a card to PHysx). Framerates are usually over 90-100 with all the visual treats, but every few minutes you can see a visible pause. It is similar to micr0-stuttering I experience with Crysis last year. Any suggestions. SHould I sacrifice framerates and dedicate one of my cards to PHysx? The game is a lot of fun, but I wish this micro-stuttering would stop. Thanks for any suggestions.

Should have been the first thing you did for process of elimination tbh if the stutter is still there try disabling physix.

I experience the same issue, but its very intermittent. Disabling SLI is not an option for me as I run the game in 3D Vision Surround and I need both my GTX 480s to do rendering. Its not that bad though as its infrequent.

wow gtx 480 SLI microstuttering? this is still a problem? I would disable vsync and/or disable physx effects ingame to see the difference.

SLI is no issue for me. My GTX 295 handles the game like smooth butter. I have physx on too. I have the second GPU (B) handle the physx while keeping my card work in SLI mode.
