Hi Guys,
Installed 256.53 and can't get X-Windows up on OpenSUSE 11.3. 256.44 works fine w/ same setup. Mike D |

256.53 works fine here on my 11.3 rig. While installing the drivers do you overwrite the old xorg.conf ? How do you install the drivers? Via the run package or over the repository?

I faced the same problem. Solved it by running mkinitrd with root privileges.
It turned out that by default the initrd includes the video driver for KMS, and I had 256.44 in it, so it was loaded instead the installed 256.52. Try that and see if it works. |

What was the syntax you used with that command? Doesn't look like a "depmod -a" type deal.

Just "mkinitrd" by itself got it up and running. Thanks for the tip!
