Ubuntu 10.04.01 LTS; xserver-xorg-video-displaylink 0.3-0ubuntu4; nvidia-current 192.36.24-0ubuntu1~10.04
kernel upgraded to 2.6.34-020634-generic What happens: DisplayLink driver unloads when Nvidia driver is used by Screen 0 in xorg.conf as shown in Xorg.0.log in attached nvidia-bug-report.log.gz. What's expected: DisplayLink driver remains loaded when Nvidia driver is used by Screen 0. Workaround: Assign devices so Nvidia is used by Screen 1 in xorg.conf as shown in Xorg.0.log.old in attached nvidia-bug-report.log.gz. The only difference in xorg.conf to produce the Xorg.0.log and Xorg.0.log.old files was the change of Screen number 0->1,1->0 in Section "ServerLayout". I think is the same problem reported in http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=151806. However in that thread Nvidia support confused DisplayPort with DisplayLink. We are talking about DisplayLink (http://www.displaylink.com/). nvidia-bug-report.log.gz Last edited by imnuts; 09-03-10 at 01:16 AM. Reason: corrected error |
