Why does anyone follow this crap? The original game was crap. The vaporware is a joke. Who gives a crap if they make this game? There have been many games of this type along the way.

Blasphemey! Duke 3-D was the best first person shooter out there until like, Deus Ex, I'd say its still in the top 3 FPS games of all time.

I agree, Duke 3D was a hell of a lot of fun and quite original for its time.

How Duke Survived
The events of the spring of 2009 seemed, to outside observers, to destroy Duke Nukem Forever. The truth is that the game lingered on.

One of the co-creators of the well-known Duke Nukem character, Allen Blum, was among the 3D Realms developers fired in May of 2009. He was a veteran. "He couldn't let it go," Pitchford said. "I wouldn't either. He decided to keep it going." So, post 3D Realms, Duke Nukem Forever development continued in the apartments of some of the laid off staff. It became, essentially, a garage game. "I got wind of it," Pitchford said. "I came around and checked things out."

How Gearbox could afford this, I don't know... but I suspect that George and Scott (Even though they no longer own the IP) will still get some royalties.

We will know more on Sunday at PAX.
No they don't. 3DR still owns the IP. 2K dropped the lawsuit when Gearbox made an arrangement with 3DR to complete the game for them since 2K knows that Gearbox can get games out. The game is still being published by Gearbox and developed with Gearbox at the helm with 2 other developers aiding the process. Gearbox has been working on it for over a year now.

Alan Blum is helping Gearbox directly. They set him up with an office within Gearbox to be onhand at all times. I don't believe George or Scott are working on the project anymore directly and good thing. Those two idiots ran a successful company to the ground and couldn't put out a ****ing game in 13 years, they shouldn't be allowed to do anything anymore with the project.

Regenerating health/shield is far more better imo. At least I dont have to run around and search for idiotic health regenerating items just laying on my path. And I hate situations when I am stuck with very low hp and there is no medpacs anywhere but I have to fight like 10 more dudes in next room.

Regenerating isnt perfect but it might provide better mechanics if well done and ballanced.

No need to bash every game faults or bugs on consoles. Its obvious that when playing with gamepad, aiming help is needed while on pc it suck becouse we have much more responsive mouse.

With autoaim or not. I just want the wait to be over and have dnf on my shelf !

btw. I like how its done with Riddick. There is a number of squares representing health. You can lose whole square or parts of em. Only medical machines will add whole losed squares, while half "dead" will regenerate themselfes.
So its a combination of two worlds.

edit2: I hope they will release that demo soon or leak it. ME WANTS !
God forbid a game present a challenge anymore. Might as well make it with God-mode enabled and unlimited ammo as well.

Health regen doesn't make a game easier... if anything it allows developers more freedom because now they don't have to come up with a way to provide health ups to a player without just throwing them randomly around a level.

Ninja Gaiden 2 has regen health and it will kick your ass and **** your sister while doing it.

Every game I've ever played with health regen has been easy. Even Metro 2033, on the hardest settings, doesn't present much of a challenge. Crysis, hardest setting, not much of a challenge. CoD series with the regen- no challange.

I want my health kits and medpacks. Makes you have to go slowly through each level, not just guns blazing rambo style.
