It's hard - no beating around that. Also, keep in mind with the business license, resellers license you then start paying business tax, etc. Those are quarterly, not annually.

or simply buy OEM versions of windows/office from newegg.

Those versions you can then install on PCs and sell them

Sure, my prices might be slightly higher than the shops in the city- but that's what you pay for the convenience of having a local computer shop out here in the sticks.

It'd be easy enough to build them and have bundles... I want to keep this small so probably no more than 5 computers for sale at a time. The rest of my time I'd spend doing house calls and computer troubleshooting/repair- meaning the bulk of my income would be from services. Which again- there's nothing around here offering that unless you want to drive an hour into the city.

Not gonna' start this yet, as I want to see how much of a demand there is for such a place first. But it's looking like it'd not be hard to start a small little business.
Well best of luck to ya man. Hopefully you can get a good thing going. Just do it legally. No TechNet on customers PCs k? :: Or we'll start calling you jojo

Bear and nekro are right, where I worked we didn't sell many system being more into the service side, but we just bound and resold an OEM version with the system, put the sticker on the case, you must put the sticker on the case.

I guess that is what I'll do initially. If the business is profitable enough then I'll make it more "official".

I was just hoping that since I have so many copies of windows and office that'd I'd be able to put them to good use. Guess not.

Oh well. Thanks for the info guys!
