Actually since Battlefield 1943 was supposed to be released the summer of 2009 for PC, it was originally built and released on Frostbite 1.0 for consoles without Destruction 2.0. It was used as the testing bed for the first Frostbite engine. Since its been delayed for so long now on PC I have no idea what engine they will finish it on. Maybe they will use it as a testing bed for Frostbite 2.0 for PC??? Heres hoping but unlikely.

And Bearclaw, previous Battlefield games have been much larger in scale and include not only helicopter fighting, but planes, jets, aircraft carriers etc. Heres a good idea of the scale!

Repi is one of the lead architects on the Frostbite engine at DICE:

twitter.com/Just_do_it_ffs: "@repi Will BF1943PC run on FB1.5? Or is the reason for the long delay you want it to run under FB2.0 instead?"
twitter.com/repi: "@Just_do_it_ffs No it is FB1.5"

Frostbite 1.0 was used in Bad Company 1. I believe BF1943 was built to test FB1.5

yea from official site, its between the bad company 1 and 2 engines

Q. What gaming Engine is it using?
A. Frostbite engine. Similar to the one used in Bad Company.

Q. What are we going to see in regards to what frostbite 2.0 can do in Battlefield 1943? Q. Will it still have destruction of buildings and environments (like battlefield bad company)?
A. Yes! I'd call it Frostbite 1.5 since we started before BFBC2 did, you'll get buildings destroyed to the foundation, but not like BFBC2 awesome Destruction 2.0! We have tried to make it better and with less of issues from BFBC1.

Battlefield 1942 was the best in the series.

Meth, there are only a handful of themes in the gaming industry. Space aliens is a theme that hasn't even been taken advantage of yet......

Have you never played the real battlefield games? AS good as bfbc2 is the REAL BF games are much better. The maps are 2 times the size.
