I have the same problem also with 260.19.04.

Sony Vaio Laptop model VPCCW27FX with Nvidia 330M.

256.53 works fine though.

does Magic SysRq work so that you shutdown your system gracefully and not using the reset button: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_SysRq_key ?

I got the same problem and had to revert to 256.53. The laptop is Sony Vaio VPCF127FX, Geforce GT 330M, Arch Linux 64-bit with custom kernel.

Only SysRq+B works (Sync, Unmount, etc. does not since I notice after these combinations the system still checks for error at boot up).

Unhappy Re: beta driver (260.19.04) bug report

I have a same issue with latest beta on my GeForce 460. During the start of the KDE 4.4.5 session system becomes unresponsive, freezes and screen is colored to pink. Only hard reset helps.

But also with current stable version is system noticeably slower in comparison with my previous GPU GeForce 8800 GTS. Vdpau is broken on 460. System is 32bit Gentoo, Core 2 E8400, P45 chipset.

With newer 260.19.12 my system runs smooth, but VDPAU.

did you fix the error noted by: [mi] EQ overflowing. The server is probably stuck in an infinite loop. in the Xorg.log ? All the errors reports mentioning that line look like they're not nVidia related but X related and not fixed.
