+1, but the premise of Mafia 2 was too good for me to resist... I wish someone would make a Kingpin 2 or even a Mafia/GTA type game with a 1st person option...

I like 1st and 3rd person equally well. Different styles, different atmospheres, different games. Mostly when done, it wouldn't work as well going the other way. IMO, Mafia 2 wouldn't work well as 1st person like Tombraider wouldn't either but that's just me. I have no preference as long as it's a good game (for me).

yeah I think the only way to make a tomb raider game more frustrating than they already are is to make it 1st person

i was upset when i found out Mafia 2 was 3rd person, looked like such a cool game, but i just can't stand third person view! bought lost planet back in the day but couldnt finish it ...

I'll just enjoy gears of war, mass effect, assassin's creed, resident evil, metal gear solid, god of war, grand theft auto, arkham asylum, max payne, prince of persia, splinter cell, dragon age, red dead redemption and dead space over here with the rest of the entire gaming community.

Gears of War and Dead Space made 3rd person worthwhile for me. Oh, The Witcher too...I'll never pass up a game for being 3rd person again.

I like FPS for basic action games, i.e. Crysis

I also prefer FPS for RPG that involves shooting, i.e. Fallout 3/New Vegas
But I can live with 3rd in RPG shooter if it's done alright (Mass Effect 2 seems alright in this respect)

I like 3rd person for RPG that has a fantasy element and uses melee/archery, i.e. Dragon Age/Witcher
