I found it looks quite pretty and plays well, though I think my new tv is auto-correcting for the fast movement, etc..

i still don't understand how this series got popular in first place. its one of the worst shooter games released.

When the original game was released is 2001, it was mind-blowing.

It combined many elements from other games and took them to another level. Also, even while it was a console game and playing an FPS with a controller sucks, typically, the game itself was awesome enough to rise above those limitations.

The relatively open worlds, the vehicles and combat, the story, it was an awesome experience when it came out.

How people can say it is one of the worst shooters ever released defies logic. The original remains one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time. The series itself is over-hyped (no where near as much as Modern Warfare) but it has still delivered.

The PC versions have been big disappointments however.

I remember playing the first Halo, and there was nothing amazing or good about. fine it had all this: "relatively open worlds, the vehicles and combat, the story". But it doesn't matter how much **** you throw into it, when its all badly done.

and the "enemys" in Halo world, are pathetic.

I think the majority of reviewers would beg to differ with you, but to each their own. Halo WAS a landmark.
