There appears to be a problem with recent distributions (Fedora 11, Ubuntu 9.04, etc) when attempting to run more than two monitors with Xorg and Xinerama with nvidia drivers.
My configuration is: Fedora 11 x86_64 Xorg 1.6.1.901 nvidia proprietary driver 173.14.18 Nvidia 7950GT PCI-X Nvidia FX 5200 PCI When running the xorg.conf detailed in the bug report, X will produce a segmentation fault. This configuration successfully produces 3 working logical screens with xinerama disabled. Note the segfault on the last two lines of the dmesg section of bug report. xrdb[3196]: segfault at 30 ip 0000000000402971 sp 00007fff76c83af0 error 4 in xrdb[400000+6000] gnome-session[3253]: segfault at 8 ip 0000003f7625db60 sp 00007fffa4256180 error 4 in libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0.1600.1[3f76200000+9a000] Is there a solution for this? Thanks. Chris |

I can confirm that the issue is gone with nvidia-drivers 260.19.04. Thanks nvidia for solving the issue!
Now, it´s time for RandR 1.2! :-) Flow |
