Thank you very much! After using the new xine-1.2 verision (xine-lib-1-2-c655ca7b6bce) I can now use 260.19.21. The issue is resolved for me. vdr-sxfe (from xineliboutput) does now work again happly displaying 720p material together with screen text via VDPAU.

Would it be possible for you to compile libxine with debug supprt (./configure --enable-debug), run it from gdb and do a "thread apply all bt" when it freezes?

Also could you please note with libX11 and libxcb versions you run? And maybe which distribution?

be aware when building a archlinux package with makepkg you have to add
Code:
options=(!strip)
to the PKGBUILD - else it will remove the debug-symbols even if you have --enable-debug set.

After that I will look at it, if nobody else did before.
Is this fixed?

With libx11-1.3.2 and libxcb-1.5.2, you just have to undefine LOCKDISPLAY.
More recent libxcb seem to have introduced some bug, so more locking is required to fix the freeze. Julian has commited a patch to xine-lib-1.2 that seem to work for him, but ymmv.

Seems to work for me also with 260.19.26 Nvidia driver in Gentoo. LOCKDISPLAY is on by default.

Thanks for the log. Seems to be like we need to do even some more logging. I will try to look into it this weekend.
In the meantime you might want to try using a libX11 without libxcb support. (run ./configure --without-libxcb)

Nvidia-drivers-260.19.26 and xine-lib-1.2 (version 11591:c655ca7b6bce tip) WORKS for me, too. Finally I can use 260.19.x drivers . Thanks to everyone involved...
