Post Problems with resolution 1152x864

Hi All,

I use to run X with a resolution of 1152x864, which is fine with 4191 drivers. However, the more recent drivers, including 4496, seem to have a problem with it: the screen becomes garbled, I can't distinguish anything (just guessing enough to type <telinit 3>...).

I use XFree86-4.3.0 and I have exactly the same XF86Config with all these drivers. I've also tried gtf, and used the modeline it gave me, with no avail.

The XFree86.0.log looks normal, no errors and no unusual warnings.

I'd appreciate if you'd have any suggestions. I could post some files too, but I'm not sure what would be relevant (XFree86.0.log? XFConfig?)

My hardware: Geforce2 MX-400 64MB, AthlonXP 1800+, 256MB RAM, MB ECS K7S5A.

Video BIOS revision is 03.11.01.24.00.

Thanks in advance!

Can you post both your XFree86.0.log and XF86Config files?

Hi Andy,

Thanks for your reply!

I attach the XF86Config and the 2 logs: one with 4191 drivers (all OK), and the other with 4496 drivers (screen garbled).

I'm running kernel 2.4.21 on an LFS system, and the NVIDIA installer compiled a new driver. I didn't let it check for a pre-compiled version, which I suspect wouldn't have been available. Could that make a difference?

Thanks in advance.

Am I restricted to log files as attachment? I've tried a gzip'd file, no luck....

Can you uncomment
Code:
# Modeline "1152x864_75.00" 104.99 1152 1224 1352 1552 864 865 868 902 -HSync +Vsync
and change it to
Code:
# Modeline "1152x864" 104.99 1152 1224 1352 1552 864 865 868 902 -HSync +Vsync
to see if it helps?

Hi Andy,

Tried that, no joy... Same behaviour as with the default (garbled screen etc.)

I attach the log file, in case you want to have a look (4496 driver).

Thanks!
