Exclamation GF 6800 + Ubuntu 10.10 Not Working

Just installed Ubuntu 10.10 and now the System takes ages to start (+ 10 Min!! compared to start with the open-source driver) and changing monitor setup or twinview configuration crashes the driver and freezes the system.
Apart from that I get a 100% system load from ksoftirqd if the system does start and I don't touch the xorg.conf (simplest possible version provided by ubuntu)

Yup, there have been a lot of issues. Easiest, for now, is to use the 256.53 from directly from nvidia. Crazy putting out a release with beta video drivers, imo.
