Hi to all!
I've an asus pro5av laptop with a GeForce 9650M GT video card. My system is a Kubuntu 10.04 with the 195.36.24 driver installed via my distro repositories. Since I often use the laptop connected to an external monitor via the VGA port, I would like to know if there is any way to configure it so that if at boot time the external monitor is connected, then it is used as default (even during the boot and login phase). Otherwise the laptop display should be used. Moreover, it would be useful to automatically switch to the laptop display in case of external monitor disconnection (or at least to have the possibility to call some script to use to switch the configuration before monitor disconnection. Can you help me? Thank you, Xwang |

When the external monitor is connected, you can set it in nvidia-settings as primary. When you boot without it connected, the internal one will get primary. Regarding manual swiching at disconnection take a look at disper (just search this forum), it will do exactly what you want.
