Default X Lockup - video corruption

Am running driver version 260.19.06 (Geforce GT 240) on Xserver (2.6.34 kernel) and just today I've started getting video corruption (screen goes mostly green with bits changing now and then), the keyboard is totally frozen out so I can't use the magic sys key to reboot the system, checked out my system log and found this:
Oct 15 20:20:32 phoenix kernel: [ 643.369100] NVRM: Xid (0003:00): 6, PE0003
Oct 15 20:20:35 phoenix kernel: [ 646.380910] NVRM: Xid (0003:00): 53, CMDre 00000000 0000089c 0100cb12 00000007 00000000
I had just updated a couple of packages today but should of affected anything (sed, poppler, icedtea, chromium, wireshark). Am looking at the cooling and it's sitting at 44 degrees.

Any ideas anyone?
Going to pop open the case and give it a clean with some compressed air, only built the system in March though so don't expect too much gunk in it.

Just checked my xorg.log.old file, found this in it:
[ 646.342] (WW) NVIDIA(0): WAIT (0, 6, 0x8000, 0x000018a4, 0x000018a4)
