I heard about it, I'm stealth though so I might stick to normal sniper with silencer and carbon fibre parts.

Also so an anti material rifle. Pic looked like an Anti Tank rifle!

its mostly a one shot kill, and has insane range.

there is a ceaser village/town just where you get it, cleared the entire city lol.

one shot to the head and it flights right off

Damn this game crashes a LOT but fortunately I haven't run into any bugged quests/NPCs yet. Freaking awesome game so far. I definitely like it better than Fallout 3. Only about 6-7 hours in.

I've put in forty hours into this game already and I've started my second playthrough. I've only had to two CTDs (one of which I caused in console) and only had a couple of quest bugs (which were easily fixed with the Fallout Wiki and the console). Given Bethseda's and Obsidian's previous work, I expected a bug-fest (especially with this game) but I've been pleasantly surprised. I really like how Obsidian put in more story depth and more serious consequences for choices and actions, but I do miss the more urbanized DC wastes.

The implementation of the skills and perks is far superior to FO3's, if only because you them more.

Also, I love how quickly the mods have appeared for this game. Granted, most of them are FO3 and Oblivion ports, but damn, being able to mod character appearance and weapons on the first friggin day the game was out was awesome.

OK you and I have almost the same hardware and software setup. Can you tell me which nVidia drivers you're using and whether you used any of the bug fixes like the d3d9.dll thing to prevent crashes? I crash every 1-2 hours or so. I'm using the latest nvidia drivers on their site (260.99 i think?) and haven't done any tweaking with the config files or anything.

I'm using the 260.99 right now and don't have to use the d3d9.dll trick. so far not a single crash.

just make sure you have the latest directx redist installed, if you do, install it again to make sure some DLL are not missing. install the visual c++ 2010 redist, (i removed 2005 and 2008 versions)

Thanks nekro, I'll give that a shot when I get home.

Freaking love this game so far even if I can't get the crashing fixed I'm still gonna finish it! Saving every 10 minutes works too.

Yay, yet another set of dlls to install. Don't you just get pissed off when it installs C++ and directX everytime and for just about every new game now.

Detect my version for goodness sake!

I'll have to check my drivers tonight (I know it's not the latest, but I don't remember the number of the last version I installed), but I am using the d3d9.dll, but just to reduce rendering lag (the game didn't have any stability problems, but combat was a slideshow before the dll).

That said, I do need to try that other binary file and see if that gets rid of the lag completely.
