I've had some problems with both games (crashes with FO3, quest bugs with NV), but overall I think I like FO3 better. While NV has a more in depth main plot, tighter links between quest and meaningful companions, FO3's lore and world are more compelling; it's a lot easier to get lost in the side quests in FO3.

Also being from the DC area makes FO3 more interesting to me. I found it very easy to navigate just based off the directions given to you by the NPCs (when they mention a place or road that actually exists). Not having that connection in NV means I'm relying on the map a lot more.

Still, both games kick ass.

No, it sends them back to Lucky 38 or to where ever home is for them. You get the choice.

yeah. I always had a choice between lucky 38 or from where I found them.

I hope they make a silence companion mod, Every time I crouch they'd have something to say... Boone was pretty quiet though.

Looks like the infinite ammo glitch doesn't work with boone and the .308 ammo. He's chewing through .308 sniper rounds like candy...

though in his defense he's racking up kills for me haha.

I may see if the anti-material rifle/ammo gives me the glitch or not. If not, I'll just give him the sniper rifle back. I picked up the sliencer for it last night and I've got caps to burn so buying all the .308 rounds from the gun runners wouldn't be too terrible considering that unless there are deathclaws or giant rad scorpions around or close combat mobs, I rarely get more than 1 or 2 shots in and that's only if I see em first.

I've been crashing randomly a lot for me lately. It's really annoying. It gets a FalloutNV.exe error. I looked in the Event Log and it's not a NVidia crash, it's the program itself.

I can't believe you all aren't burned out enough from 70hrs of Fallout3 that you buy and sink 40+ more hours into this game.

It's a matter of choice and taste... why not? If you don't like it, give it a pass and good to go

It's a different game.

By your logic, no one would buy FPS games anymore because they'd be burned out from Quake...

* spoilers *

I finished it tonight, the last area after the Dam was really rough.

Overall, I liked it more than Fallout 3, but I felt (although choices are good) there were too many factions and choices. It got a little crazy and seemed to drag on a bit at times.

I'm not saying I want a short game with no choices, but they went a little overboard. Overall though, the whole story really works and it was just a really good game.

I liked the Brotherhood and was a member in Fallout 3. I ended up on their good side and I saw a quest to finally join them, but I didn't pursue it, I have the save.

I found no way to avoid screwing them over, so I did and I really didn't want to. I may have to revisit that path to become a member. Is there a way to finish the game and have the Brotherhood go against Mr. House?

It seems like this game has like 100 endings. I doubt I'll play them all, but it was cool.

I finished. 100+ hrs for me. Can't eblieve I put that much in. Didn't feel like that much. Awesome game. I went NCR in the end. Some cool moments in the final battle, and I liked how they wrap up most of the loose ends.

For post above, there are only 4 major factions, they have endings. NCR, Legion, Mr House and Yes Man. All other join-able factions are lesser and do not have an ending, but can affect the ending.

Horrible example. Different game? Quake to FarCry is a different game. F3 to F3 Vegas is an expansion pack.

Did you play NV?

It's not an expansion pack. At all. It's in the same game world (Vegas as opposed to DC) and uses the same engine, but it's not the same at all.
