If you're on the PC there's a mod file you drop in the game's folder that lets you keep playing and go do more side quests/exploring. The main quest ends like any other quest and it's back to business as usual.

Just beat the game. It was a great game and I generally liked it more than Fallout 3. Time for them to update this engine though. Anyone know of any good graphical enhancement mods?

Why would you buy a game like this for the 360?

I don't know if the makers of Fallout or New Vegas will see this and I realize what I am about to say may make more than a few of you mad. But here it goes, Fallout 3 was a lack luster game but it was the first of the kind that I had played (first person RPG) and it was Fallout (huge fan of Fallout 1, 2 & tactics) so I gave it a shot. Then Fallout Vegas came out advertised as a kind of return to the original apparently written by some of the original authors. And again wholly disappointing and for reasons completely without understanding.
1st; No character sheets for your NPC's and even through base conversation you don't really know what they are good at. The majority lack any real personality; Veronica is the most notable exception. Descriptions of objects and ammo before you buy/build them would be nice and the party size sucks, NPC interaction is half the game, maybe you guys should revisit Baldur's Gate, Fallout 2, Knights of the Old Republic 2 and similar it isn't like it's a new concept. Or just remove them completely, kinda "Do it right or don't do it at all".
2nd; No continuing interaction with world NPC's beyond second tier quests (basically quest trees WAY too short), and what you do does not change the world map; get a new sheriff for Primm, place is still a dump, Clear out Cottonwood Cove for the NCR and do they take it over NO, the Legion just doesn't happen to be there anymore.
3rd; Economy, by the first quarter of the game you have more cash than you need, not because your finding it everywhere, but because there is nothing to spend it on (outside of Ammo and the very few mods available, I only bought three things a Sniper Rifle, Anti-Material Rifle and Reinforced Metal Armor). Suggestion maybe have a Tech level and Business Level for merchants and the ones you use the most maybe get better inventories or something as you go through the game (adjusted for starting level and location).
Just a few thoughts, I have more but I have taken way too much space, I love the Fallout universe but get really bummed when a game with so much potential is left to wither.
