BENCHMARK THREAD
NEOSEEKER FULL PC GAME REVIEW
IGN FULL PC GAME REVIEW

Capcom's Lost Planet franchise returns, with more gloss, better weapons, tess-ell-ation, ... enhanced multiplayer...

... and the ability to play as Dead Rising's Frank West?? With a teddy bear strapped to his back?? ... there may be OTHER character options as well...

Many of us know by know by now how graphically intense this game is, even on modern PCs. But have the new features added to the MT Framework Engine just added polish to a (Games for Windows AND Steam? Really?) turd?

Anyway, here's your stinkin' official game/game feedback thread.

Thoughts:
Tessellation is disappointing in this game , feels like it was added on top as check box feature, better without it.
Game is mostly in jungle, i personally preferred snowy cold feel from LP1.
To much UI on screen , to big , lets blame consoles for this....
Game is OKish very multilayer oriented but could have been better.

Is solo play pretty much broken like console releases?

I don't know if it's broken per se. I've heard it gets really, really, really hard. Like Bob watching Liza Minelli hard. Thus far I haven't played offline yet, as the online campaign is kinda the default.

Judging by the screenshots and videos, for some reason I thought it would feel a LOT different than its predecessor. Not so. What I've played so far (with 360 wireless pad) has felt almost more like Lost Planet 1.5 than LP2. They really duplicated the original game's feel for use on the sequel.

I'm trying this out on my fresh x6 build, which has a stock-speed CPU right now. Although the HD 5830 is at 875/1200 right now, this game is still over all bringing the system to its knees at 1280x720, 2xAA/16xAF. I'm not sure that I know whether or not this game is CPU limited. I'd think the situation may drastically improve once I get the CPU where it should be.

I'll post some screen shots if I can think to press the right key in FRAPS.

Well on console the friendly AI is so bad it makes some points, where co-op is essential near impossible. ::

I loved the first one but I heard the same thing about friendly AI. Why the hell did they make it co-op only? I just want another LP with bigger bugs and baddass mechs.

Gamers want co-op, and co-op only. Gamers will also like what devs tell them to like.

You can play offline, there is an option for that. I haven't checked it out yet, but will do so shortly.

What the ****?

I mean... I still have to buy that game but, honestly, your comment left me quite frozen, as I have a similar build, except for the 460 FTW EE instead of a 5830, and 8GB vs 4GB on a 'normal' HDD (even if it's SATA600).

And, honestly... I wouldn't like to have another kind of 'Crysis Warhead' from Capcom... as I'll be running everything at 1366x768, I thought I could kind of 'freely' raise everything to the max, or near...

How much FPS are you getting with that configuration?

I honestly don't think I was getting much better than this, when I was using my AM2+/DDR2/x3 @ 3.5ghz... mind you I was trying this out with my x6 at 2.8, turbo off, which in some cases would be slower than the x3 is @ 3.5.

This was my experience with the benchmark at "DX11=High" which I added to my 460 review (http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/show...9&postcount=11)... at 1920x1080...

Benchmark Data:

... I'm testing my rig out right now, and am in my way to 4ghz. Right now I'm testing out 3.75 ghz... let me run the same bench with the 5830 @ 19x10 and see what I get with this x6 at a faster speed... Maybe the game is very GPU dependent... we'll see I guess.
