Interesting... even on the high profile, the game will be playable for me without sacrificing anything (in theory, at least). 34.8 FPS on average isn't any bad at all, even less if we take into account I'll be running it at 1366x768, so roughly 50% of the pixels on screen (1.04Mp vs 2.07Mp).

I guess I could be getting something like 38-40, maybe even a bit more (with a huge dose of luck, that's it haha).

Nice benchmarks!

Woah.

The boss Akrid that is also in the benchmark... when I get up close, it just obliterates this 5830; when I'm right in front of it I get 4fps, that's right, four. Worse than Metro 2033 at absolute highest settings.

I guess I have to dial back the DX11 features on this game, even at this low 720p resolution. Looks like I need a 6850/6870, or a GTX 470.

He has tried with both, and the results so far looks not far each from the other, so maybe it's the game is not that optimized or the cards are 'good enough' for highly tesselated environments but you can't really ask for them to act like their bigger siblings (would sound fair enough in my opinion).

Still... that sudden dip into the sub-10's... phew

I can't remember where I heard it but I think I read somewhere that tesselation is somwhat overdone in LP2 (many extra triangles that make no visual difference), therefore it favours nvidia's brute force approach to tesselation.
