Default XVideo not syncing to external display

I have a laptop that I connect to my external LCD (DFP-2). When I do that, I turn the laptop's display (DFP-0) off. The problem is XVideo doesn't sync to that external LCD afterwards -tearing appears.

At that point, nvidia-settings only offers me a checkbox "Sync to VBlank", so I cannot change the display it synces to.

I'm using nvidia drivers 275.19. Any advice? It seems that changing the sync device to DFP-2 before turning DFP-0 off doesn't help either.
