Really no reason whatsoever to install this prerelease. Like nekro said its just a roll up ofprevious patches. W7 must just be that good

Yeah my Windows 7 worked fantastically and here is no reason to install SP1 RC1 cos most of updates already been installed from Windows Update. Windows SP1 is schedule to be available to download from Windows Update in Q1 2011, so we probably will see Windows 7 SP1 RC2 in November then we all can install Windows 7 SP1 RTM days before xmas day in December.

umm, you missed the link in post.

the updates that are on windows updates cover less then 10% of the updates/fixes done to windows 7.

There is tons more updates.

Nekro is right, that thread he posted has tons of updates that you must request. This update in particular:

KB975243 - The DirectX Diagnostics Tool incorrectly reports DirectX 11 devices as DirectX 10.1 devices on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

I requested that one, even though it seems to be cosmetic. My DX11 GTX 480 was showing as DX10.1.

follow this link http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=143978

there are more updates that are not on windows updates, and this is not even close to the full list.
