That video had to be made for playground arguments...I only read 3 youtube comments on it and know already what sort of thread this would turn into....

Expect serious trolling from the usuals, biased views and opinions, bait, flame and bans...if i was a mod i'd lock it now.

For most examples, the sucking started after the first big console versions came out. The devs probably realized that they can make more money with less effort and less post-release community support on consoles and got lazy. Plus those games suffered from more casual gaming focus and hardware limitations.

Don't care if anyone says that PC gaming is dying again, but the really good quality games are definitely dying...
Agreed.

These days it's out with the Great Original Ideas...and in with the Endless Rehashes+Copycats.
All the developers are doing is making too many similar games so that it splits the PC community as a whole.

So now you have
Call of Duty Blackops/Battlefield Bad Company 2/Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2/Medal Of Honor....All of them very much alike.

So what you get is Hardcore fans of each game that will yell at developers if they don't make their next game in the cookie cutter form that fits the game they play. thus We have no new fresh ideas, we only get console ports of games we want on pc,or if we're lucky we get one Awesome game out of ten Duds.

This is why the indy developers are gaining popularity because they wanna make new games that have good gameplay instead of the bigger companies that just cash in on most of the Braindead Console Crowd and their Twitch Shooters.[now this is all IMO ofcourse].

also no offense intended to any console players here

Wow, its a video about how CliffyB has become a console hag and all his followers. If you consider auto aim and a controller FPS gaming you are delusional, thats not gaming it's an interactive movie. I prefer to game not be hand held, sorry console you are dead to me.

Also, I love how console gamers feel the need to put crap like this on the internet. Like by telling PC gamers over and over its dead we are supposed to succumb and by a R_ROD box. You don't end PC gaming by sitting on your little high horse trying to convince us it's dead ....but I realize you have nothing more to do while you wait for your RMA'd 360 to come back to you for the 5th time.

I came up with another theory on this while driving into work....

With the consoles these developers can be lazy and just bang out DX9 title after DX9 title. On the PC with the API constantly changing imagine what a PITA it would be to code a DX10title while DX11 was being developed. You'd probably want to just wait for DX11. And of course you have DX11 hardware and the expectation of the PC gamer for developers to use the latest and greatest.

I'm guessing the real reason they want to leave the PC behind and stick with consoles is that they can be lazy. There is no need to push the boundaries and use DX11 API calls. PC gamers are demanding, we buy top end hardware to play AAA titles using the latest DX11 but developers can poop out a DX9 title on the console and sell 3 million copies. Why would they want to chase the PC gamer with higher hardware specs and us expecting titles to use their high end hardware? Complacency.
