OR if you really want to get down to the nitty gritty, get that 460 for as cheap as possible. Then wait for the 580 to come out and then return the 460, for the 580 in a week, and then you would be sittin pretty darn good.

In the spirit of adventurousness, I say that you try out the modded driver setup that allows SLI on CrossFire motherboards. Yeah it might be a hassle, but hey, overclocking used to be a hassle, and we still did it... except of course some of the Sallies here who are and have been too scared and afraid to get a little dirty... seems like we need some XS people to come over here and shake things up a bit!

Give it a whirl, I've heard good things about it, and if I didn't have to review on this machine, then that's the route I would have taken as well.

And FWIW folks (I'm looking at you, Roadhog ), the nforce 980a chipset in this Asus AM3 SLI motherboard I'm using kicks ass. "Poor" or weak or gimped or insufficient? Nope. Reliable, overclocks great, not too hot...

Well... the 980a is supposed to be the top-of-the-line chipset, mine was more like the bottom one ¬¬

But hey, I'm honestly glad at least one confirmed chipset from NVIDIA is actually working

I've been away from this lark for years, and in my recent research I would have definately gone for a cheaper case & mobo and stuck a 6870 in there and crossfire it in the future.

NZXT Phantom is a sexy case from about half the price.
