Call of Duty - Black Ops Review

We already have the opinion of one reviewer, who for the most part loved the game. We have yet another review for you, so always good to get another perspective.

Michael Menzel from Game-Pad points to the fact that COD Black Ops is meant to be the most complete game from

the series. It is no secret that when it comes to FPS games, Call of Duty is usually the benchmark, so this latest game has a huge weight on its shoulders.
If we were to pick out a couple of key elements of this review, then it would be how he states that the graphics are nothing like they were on Modern Warfare 2, although they are still better than other FPS games currently on the market. However, the larger maps and being more aware of the character you play makes you get more into the game.

More Review..

Single Player is fun, I can't rule on Multi. Haven't been able to play it. Trying to connect to a server takes 2+ mins, then drops game and steam connection, OR I can't see anything in the server browser.

Just got done playing some MP (aka all this game offers) and it was a lot better than yesterday. Still some jitteryness, but I didn't crash in 3 or 4 games, so... that was nice.

This. And then I read all this stuff about poor performance and what not.. hilarious. Looks like I'll snag this one on a steam Christmas sale.... though I'm also planning on getting GT5 so I'll probably play this for an hour and then go back to GT5.

Interesting tidbit regarding multiplayer stuttering: http://bashandslash.com/index.php?op...153&Itemid=131

Just to clarify, I do get some very noticeable stuttering on certain servers and absolutely none on others. This confused me quite a bit until I read this article.

They removed connect/disconnect/reconnect?

Why would you remove the most useful features of the command prompt? ****ing idiots.

And it's funny they set the rate settings incorrectly. That makes sense as to why it's so damn choppy though.

Probably not. Like MW2, it will be $60 for at least another year and will not go on sale.

Strangely, they just removed "connect". Needless to say this stumped me and some of my friends, since one of them purchased a server and we spent 2 hours trying to figure out how to connect to it before giving up.

Wow that's really weird. Do they think PC gamers are no longer capable of using IP addresses to connect to servers?

Combine that with the fact that not all servers show up in the browser. How do they expect people who purchased a server to connect to it?

No idea. They removed some other features as well such as choosing which team you join, which really sucks when you want to join a server with a group of friends. As it is now you have to join, send invites to everyone, and hope they all get assigned to your team when the next round starts. We got a server but no idea if admins can change team assignments because we can't connect to it.
