Default Is this a good gaming build?

Hi all,

A friend of mine here, after seeing my roommate and I playing lots of PC games, wants to get a reasonably inexpensive PC build. I've put together the following build, but please let me know if I've overlooked any better alternatives?

ZOTAC ZT-40404-10P SYNERGY GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 768MB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card ($164)

AMD Athlon II X3 450 Rana 3.2GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Desktop Processor ADX450WFGMBOX ($81.99)

CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TW3X4G1333C9 ($66.99)

OCZ Fatal1ty OCZ550FTY 550W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V SLI Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply ($64.99)

GIGABYTE GK-K6800 Glossy Black USB Wired Standard Professional Multimedia Keyboard ($17.99)

ASUS M4A87TD EVO AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard ($109.99)

Seagate SV35.5 ST3500410SV 500GB SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive ($49.99)

Rosewill FB-01 Black ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, come with 1x 80mm Fan ($17.99)

Sony Optiarc CD/DVD Burner Black SATA Model AD-7260S-0B - OEM ($19.99)

Total comes out to $594.91. He already has a monitor he can use (an HDTV), so this is a complete system.
I'd be very appreciative of any comments/ideas here! He will be using this PC primarily for gaming.

Looks pretty good to me. I may invest in an Athlon x4 as it's only $20 more expensive. Should be a great performer for the price

Changes:

Although I am a loyal nVidia fan and haven't bought an ATI for myself in years, the 6850 looks to perform much better for about the same price as the GTX 460 1GB, let alone the 768mb one I had in there, so I've swapped the 460 out for one, as much as it pains me.

Also, I've upgraded him to a 3.0GHz Athlon II X4. I thought our budget would originally be <$600, but he has flexibility up to $700, so that gives me some breathing room.

Total is now $627.

Why not look for a MB, that could possibly unlock the CPU?

The mobo has unlock capabilities, but I'd rather not play that particular dice game, especially since the machine is NOT for a computer enthusiast. This thing needs to be rock solid and not hitch after I hand it to my friend.

He's approved a budget bump to $650. So he's gonna get a Phenom II X4 810
