Default 260.19.06 and 8600m gs, hd?

Hi,

I bought yesterday a new full hd monitor (lg e2350v) for connect my laptop (dell vostro 1710). I have installed ubuntu 10.10, my graphic card is geforce 8600m gs and the driver version is 260.19.06. The maximum selectable resolution for this monitor with "NVIDIA xserver settings" is 1360 x 768.

The question is, does this driver support full hd? I edited xorg.conf and changed metamodes to 1920x1080, but it works in 1024x768. If i edit xorg.conf and change metamodes to 800x600 the graphic card realice the change well.

However, with the screen of my laptop, I work at 1440 x 900, bigger resolution than the biggest of the posibilities for the lg.

Can someone help me? I would like to know if the driver support full hd, and some way to increase the resolution for this screen.

Thanks.

Default Re: 260.19.06 and 8600m gs, hd?

solved, it's necessary to write horizSync and VertRefresh in xorg.conf too. The values for this monitor are:

HorizSync 30.0 - 83.0
VertRefresh 56.0 - 75.0
