Default Dell Latitude E6410 (NVIDIA NVS 3100M) fails to restore screen after DPMS suspend

To trigger this I do:
- Suspend screen by running:
$ xset dpms force suspend
This turns off the display and backlight as expected.

- Touch a key or move mouse
Backlight comes back on but display remains black.
In /var/log/Xorg.0.log I see:
(WW) NVIDIA(GPU-0): LGD (DFP-3): Failed to set DisplayPort power state
(WW) NVIDIA(GPU-0): LGD (DFP-3): Failed to set DisplayPort power state
(EE) NVIDIA(GPU-0): LGD (DFP-3): DisplayPort link training failed

Changing VTs (ctr-alt-f1 + ctr-alt-f7) restores the display.

Also I noticed that running:
$ xset dpms force on
Makes the screen flicker off and inmediately back on. In /etc/Xorg.0.log I see:
(WW) NVIDIA(GPU-0): LGD (DFP-3): Failed to set DisplayPort power state

I have 260.19.26-0ubuntu1~xup~maverick and still the screen won't wake up..
Strange, on battery the screen doesn't turn off, it is black, but on. And it wakes up correctly. On AC power the screen is completely off, and I have this problem to wake up..

I've a Latitude E6510 with the NVS 3100M, and this bug just hit me with the very latest drivers. I've never seen it happen before.

Errors in Xorg log:
(EE) Aug 05 19:13:42 NVIDIA(GPU-0): DP_AUX Write timeout exceeded
(WW) Aug 05 19:13:42 NVIDIA(GPU-0): LGD (DFP-3): Failed to set DisplayPort power state
(EE) Aug 05 19:13:42 NVIDIA(GPU-0): LGD (DFP-3): Failed to configure DisplayPort main link power
(EE) Aug 05 19:13:42 NVIDIA(GPU-0): LGD (DFP-3): DisplayPort link training failed

Screen suspended first, and it wouldn't wake up afterwords. I checked logs after reboot and found the above.

Nvidia driver 280.13 on Ubuntu 10.04 x86-64.
