Actually upon further playing with the fan speed even sometimes when you do set it to a value in range it bounces around to another value. Sometimes you can set it to something like 73% and it spins it up to somewhere from what I'm guessing 55% but the slide bounces to 41%.

.26 confirmed to not have Fermi OC support via nvidia-settings . Can we expect OC support by release? Hope so! Also hoping 3D OC will take into consideration BIOS upvolting (e.g. 1.138v -1.155v) to accommodate higher stable overclocks.

Thanks, vallimar. We have a bug filed on this and a fix should be available in a future release.
does this fix the annoying pthreads regression (effecting 3D apps and vim...) that has existed since the 260.* release?

.26 does not work with libvdpau 0.4.1. No problems with .21. I would rather NV focus on adding OC support rather than bugfixes such as .26 + libvdpau 0.4.1, i.e. I would rather use xv and OC than VDPAU.

You would be in the very small minority. There is no doubt that more people use vdpau acceleration then overclocking especially when there is next to nothing in linux that requires overclocking any remotely recent video cards made in the last few years.

It seems that is not only the svp_3dvp_pixdata.h header file missing and the picture file for that in nvidia-settings-260.19.26.tar.bz2.
I try to build nvidia-settings-260.19.26 for FreeBSD, using the ports system,
do this patch:

Unhappy Re: Where's a new beta?

.26 still flickers on my Asus G73JW notebook when the performance level changes - is there any hope that a future driver will fix this?

Default Re: Where's a new beta?

The new beta seems to work on this old overclocked 7600 GS card on Fedora 14.

Lightsmark (run from the phoronix test suite) gives results within one standard deviation of the 256.53 drivers. gtkperf results seem a bit strange, but I need to run that with a cleanly booted system.

Thanks for the update.
