I understand that the destruction is being toned down from BC2:

Quote:
Damage is done to façades built onto structures, rather than the actual structures themselves – you’re not going to be bringing buildings down in Battlefield 3 like you did in Bad Company 2 outside of scripted moments in singleplayer and possible hard-coded objectives in multiplayer.
So Destruction 2.0 or not, it will not have the same level of destruction as BC2. That is a "nerf" of destruction imo.

Not such a bad thing though, with all the vehicles and destructive power available in BF3, most maps would be leveled in minutes, leading to combat on flat maps.

They could at least be honest about why...

BF3 destruction getting nerfed for everyone because consoles can't do it at 30 fps.

The whole building falling down thing was kind of lame anyway. Especially with mcoms in them :P If anything this sounds like an improvement in destruction because only a select few buildings were completely destructible in BC2. In fact many structures weren't subject to much of any damage at all.

I was sincerely looking forward to creatively demolishing my NPC foes by collapsing buildings on top of them, or other such extremely unnecessary awesomeness.

Really sad this dream has been squashed.

Man you guys need to learn to read. They never said they are removing destruction. Some buildings will still be fully destructible like in bc2. Hell, even some in bc2 can't be destroyed all the was. Same exact thing as they are saying in bf3.
