I remember saying this in the other thread, but I've installed the BF3 alpha, NFS: Shift, BF2142, and Mirror's Edge through Origin and they all came as the fully updated game files directly, just like steam. The only thing that came as an installer executable was the DLC for Mirror's Edge.

Steam has been going for 8 years, please dont compare the 2 because when Steam was first released i remember the same being said about that. As long as the game works OK through Origin, as long as you can have friends contacts and as long as its a fast downloader for the games...which it is, then i dont see the problem other than for Steam which is getting a bit of competition.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with Origin but I'll probably buy BF3 retail because it will be cheaper. I only brought Crysis Warhead and BFBC2 Vietnam because they were good prices on Origin, BFBC2 Vietnam was half price at £4.99.

There was a 25% off coupon for BF3 digital on Origin. If you were in the alpha check your junk email.

This is off topic but I have a question that has been bugging me.
Why are the COD games so much more popular than Battlefield games? Is it that people like the small maps and very quick action? The COD games them selves are certainly not that great of games. The Battlefield games have so much more dynamics to them. Maybe I'm just biased towards BF but I just don't get the appeal of cheap counter strike wannabe game play of COD multiplayer.

![]() I like being a part of a team. That is the main reason why COD games don't appeal to me.
