Default Change FX5200 to FX5500 nVidia GeForce card

Hello,

I work in Linux FC14 on a PC with a nVidia GeForce FX5200 graphic card.
MSI FX5200-T 128 MB DDR 8x AGP TV-Out.
Performance:
Graphics Core: 256-bit
Memory Bandwidth: 10,4 GB/sec
Fill Rate: 1,3 billion textels/sec
Vertices per Second: 81 million
Maximum Memory: 128MB

Supports Super High Resolution Graphics Modes:
640x480 8/16/32 bis colors with 150Hz
...
2048x1536 8/16/32 bit colors with 60Hz

My linux drivers on this moment:
Code:
xorg-x11-drv-nouveau.i686 1:0.0.16-11.20100826git065576d.fc14
xorg-x11-drv-nv.i686 2.1.15-6.fc14
xorg-x11-drv-vesa.i686 2.3.0-1.fc14
My Computer Motherboard:
MSI KT4 AV-L Retail Sound DDR tot 2800.
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1500+ AMD XP 2,2 GHz Boxed
My computer shows: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1500+

Because I The TV-Out doesn't work any more, I like to buy a new card:

Nvidia Geforce FX5500 256MB AGP Grafikkarte - FX 5500 256 MB DVI, VGA (D-Sub), TV-Out:
Product descriptions translatted from Deutsch:
Graphical Memory: 256MB DDR # Chipset: NVidia GeForce FX5500 # RAMDAC: 350 MHz # Memory Interface: 128bit DDR # DirectX-Supply: 9.0, OpenGL # Slot: AGP 8x # Connection: DVI und VGA (TV-Connection - HDTV) # System Requirements: Windows 95, Windows 98, Win 2000/2003, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 # in the delivery: Driver-CD

Please, should I can change the graphic cards without any difficulties?
I have looked for the new FC13/14 nouveau driver, it should be also used for FX 5500.
And DDR and AGP are the same.

Many thanks in advance for any recommendation or answer.
Many Greetings,
Gaston Verhulst.

Default Re: Change FX5200 to FX5500 nVidia GeForce card

Hello,

So, I found and bought a new card, AXLE nVidia GeForce FX 5500 AGP 8x 256 MB DDR.

The installation was very easy and after starting up, the new card was immediately automatically accepted.

Code:
[gastonv@gastonv ~]$ /sbin/lspci | grep nVidia
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV34 [GeForce FX 5500] (rev a1)
[gastonv@gastonv ~]$ xrandr
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1440 x 900, maximum 4096 x 4096
VGA-1 connected 1440x900+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 410mm x 256mm
   1440x900 60.0*+ 75.0
...
DVI-I-1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
TV-1 connected 1024x768+200+60 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 0mm x 0mm
   720x576 50.0 +
   1024x768 50.0*
...
And with TV-1 connected, I am very happy that TV-Out works again as earlier.

The result is faster monitor screen.

Many greetings,
Gaston Verhulst.
