Also worth noting is that I think the music in those videos is AMAZING. I've always liked the music but one thing I noticed is that in those videos when the sound track changed to combat music, it goes back to where you ORIGINALLY were in the music rather than simply picking the next peaceful music song.

also worth noting is that the music at the beginning of video 3 on that page I think is from morrowind.

While not getting a 64-bit exe sucks (32-bit memory limitations became the bane of Oblivion), I'm glad to see all the other improvements and the mod support, especially since most other dev seems uninterested in supporting mods.

Yeah the lack of a 64-bit executable seems... dumb imo. With most gaming PCs having 4GB+ of RAM it's time games start taking advantage of that. Heck, for a lot of higher end rigs with 8GB+ you could likely have almost zero swapping with all of the data stored either in system RAM or the framebuffer. Maybe the next Elder Scrolls will utilize x64.

Either way, this won't stop me from buying the game.

thats a bit sad about the no 64bit support, especially for a game like this and most computers run with 8gb these days...I am gonna wait this out, and wait for the community patches/etc.

Most games don't use that much RAM even with 64bit executables. Obviously this game won't since it's a multi platform title. This is a non-issue.

I'm going to wait a while on this game, not at the top of my list. I bought Oblivion for $8 a few years ago and have yet to finish it. I may install it tonight for funzies.

Hopefully the new engine has better memory management, but Oblivion with everything cranked, especially with texture and LOD mods, would happily try to consume more than the addressable memory limit, which is why the 3GB addressing hack and the memory purge mods were popular.
