I'm sure the game as shipped will be more than capable of managing memory for the resources it uses by default. Apparently the PC version will actually be getting better textures and from what I've seen from preview videos, Skyrim probably won't be needing any major overhauls in the graphics department to be a great experience at launch (unlike Oblivion...my heart sank when I left the tutorial dungeon and saw the world of blurry textures as far as the eye could see). The game engine does appear to be significantly improved from Oblivion's in more ways than just visual quality. I'd be very surprised to see memory address errors happening in normal circumstances.

It's still disappointing because what they could accomplish if they used more than 4GB... the potential.

It could be very beneficial for far draw distances but then also if you're in a wilderness area that ammount of detail in a very small area- dense foliage and dense brush, trees, etc. That'd block your view from further objects so draw distance in those areas wouldn't have to be so great. I know it'd take a bit of work to implement but it'd look so amazing.

Oh well, game isn't even out yet and from the videos I've seen it looks amazing already.

I think the draw distance is one of the things they focused on. Also the world map is displayed by zooming out and up very high, which looks incredible. Also we won't have to worry about a terrible world map like in Oblivion vanilla.

I really can't believe how well the player/npc models have turned out in this game. Elder Scrolls games, hell Bethesda games in general have always had really awful looking models, these just look fantastic. The animations look great so far too.

I'm super excited about this game... yet I am REALLY thinking hard about just waiting for the GOTY edition so I can get all of the DLC and the game for 20 bucks next year... decisions, decisions.

It's a whole new engine, its not the gamebryo. If you have seen any of the videos you would see that the models look ALOT better then in the past.

Go watch the gametrailers.tv videos, then you'll see it's not ANYTHING like the same old engine.
