I just bought the retail version of Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010. I am aware that it states I can install this on up to three computers at home. My question is, lets say I install it on one computer and now I have two installs remaining. If I uninstall it on the computer I just installed it on, will it reset the number of installs so now I, once again, have three installs remaining or will that one install I did get locked to the computer I installed it on?

I believe it still counts as one of the three installs.

If you purchased it legitimately, you can always contact MS and they will reset the activations for you if necessary. Just tell them the machine died.

+1. AFAIK when you uninstall there isn't a revoke activation like some games have. After you burn the 3 activations you just need to call to have it reset each time after that.
