Hi there,
I use KDE 4.4.4 and have a GForce 210M in an Acer notebook. I wonder, are there some valuable tweaks for xorg.conf to make KDE performing better or to make it more stable? Thanx! |

Disable KDE's blur effect. There is a memory leak bug in it that affects your version of KDE:

There are no blur effect available in kde 4.4. Blur effect is only available from kde 4.5 and it has a great impact on performance (in my experience). Guess Nvidia and KDE team is blaming each other as usual.

Not meaning to be silly here, but have you tried using gnome instead.

Kwin in KDE4 is a lot more integrated unlike Compiz is in GNOME, since it's not the window manger for the DE, distros just make it so. It wasn't too long ago people complained about Compiz performance issues with NVIDIA too.
I'm not sure if they fixed the Oxygen deco bug that hurt performance. Try a different window decoration than the default Oxygen one. |
