i've got a GeForce2 MX2 Dual Display video card. i'd like to use the TV output.
i downloaded the latest nvidia driver and installed it. i made the required
modifications in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4, and the TV output is activated.
my problem comes from screen resolutions in Options "Metamode". my main screen
is a 15" monitor, in 800x600 resolution. my aux monitor is my tv, in 640x480.
but it displays in 800x600, and truncates it to 640x480. i tried some other
resolutions, like 800x600, but this way, the display is deformed. othe
resolutions make my X-Server crash at startup
has anybody an idea for making it work with 800x600 res on main monitor, and
640x480 on tv??
modified parts in my /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file:
Identifier "NVIDIA GeForce 2 MX (generic)"
Device "NVIDIA GeForce 2 MX (generic)"
Monitor "My Monitor"
Option "SecondMonitorHorizSync" "15 - 80"
Option "SecondMonitorVertRefresh" "50 - 100"
Option "Metamodes" "1024x768,1024x768;800x600,640x480"
Option "TwinViewOrientation" "Clone"
Option "ConnectedMonitor" "CRT, TV"

You can't use real 800x600 on your monitor + real 640x480 on your TV. (with real I mean non-virtual)
Did you already try things like this:
Then you will get a 800x600 virtual desktop on the tv at 640x480. You can access the full desktop but it is virtual.
