Out with the old:

Q6600, you have served me well, and you will continue to do so, but you will make way for the new and improved.

Enter the new machine:

Too bad I chose the ugly versions of the GTX460, but I have 2 setsugen 2 coming to replace the default coolers. Also interesting to see the 1st revision of the Inno3d GTX460 above the 2nd, shorter revision in the same case

Specs in sig.

cleaned some dust out, and put a filter on the front intake fan. so far, temps are about 2-3C larger at idle. same specs as before, no new hardware...

EDIT: temps are now 4C larger at idle. I may have to rethink the whole filter thing and just put up with the dust...I am using window screen folded twice over.
EDIT2: temps dropped back to 1-2C over old idle. Things lookin good

Bob, keep up with the temp updates. It's 2 hours now since the last one, and we expect a full report. Swiff.

thanks slaw only wish i could buy some long sleeved fan extension cables for less than 5 bucks/1 short one, then i could run all the fan cables behind the motherboard, or around it.

Get a small shop vac bob and cleaning out the computer will be quick and painless, plus you can vacuum out the car with it.

yea bdan, i clean it out with a vacuum cleaner and i have a portable air compressor, i was thinking just for aesthetic benefit, it would be better if all the fan wires did not cross over the motherboard.

have you tried that one mullet? any idea how long it is?
