From what it looks like to me, the new Sandy procs seem better than the older I7 900's (with the exception of the high end 900's). I feel that for me, upgrading to the new Sandy's would be beneficial since I am running a Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.6.

Of course this is just my observation of the reviews that I have seen.

Me too...don't think I can pass it up. It's not likely prices will drop much more between now and May (which will complete my 4 year mobo/CPU/RAM upgrade cycle) and I'd only get less $$$ for my existing parts.

Also think I'm going back to air cooling so I can sell off the WC kit.

One very good thing to come from these Chips is Hyper Threading actually makes a difference now. With an I7, performance was quite often worse with it enabled.
