Lightbulb Recommend me a new cooler.

Ok as the name says im hoping one of you lot can recommend me a nice new cooler.

This old Ultra-120 eXtreme is starting to hold me back at overclocks past 3.6GHz!

So .... What do you think? ... Anything good on the market that could cope with a 4GHz+ overclock? ... I have around 80 - 90 max to spend.

Hmm, Been looking here. http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/

May think about building my own water-cooling system, The problem is i haven't a clue where to start! ....

What is a decent Water Block?

Am i best off getting a Reservoir with a pump built in?

If not what size Reservoir should i get? What about a pump? Whats a decent pump?

Radiators! .... Whats a decent Radiator .. Whats size do i get?

How does the hose connect to the Water Block, Reservoir & pump?

I can now see why some people just buy a pre-built/sealed water-cooling kit.

EDIT: could a bother somebody to take a look through the above site to spec me out a full, Half decent, Budget kit ...

there are some great air cooling setups out now, like the one ^ recommended, but i am going to guess the real world difference between 3.6 and 4 will not justify a brand new cooler. I dont think you'll squeeze a lot of extra fps out, you might though....

What kind of fan do you have on your TRUE? Simply adding a 2nd fan or a higher airflow fan can make a difference on the cooler. That and if you want to lap the base of the heatsink that might help some as well.

yea, or make sure there's no dust, cause that adds a couple degrees sometimes. i am idling right at 40c with my overclock, and would probably be in the 42-44 range for 4.0, which is acceptable imo.

Hmm funny you should mention the dust! ... Just checked and its pretty bad in there.

Well you guys have me thinking .... Think ill try the cheaper option first ... Just bought two 120mm dust filters for the two fans on the front of this Antec 900.

Just bought two of these.

Aluminum Filter Dust Guard.

Now for a good 120mm fan for my heat-sink, Any recommendations on a good CFM fan?

What about the Scythe S-FLEX 1600RPM with 63.7 CFM? ... Or maybe two in a push/pull config?

I actually have a antec fan on there atm. I took the antec fan from the back of the case and put it on the ultra 120 heatsink. I then put a cheapo 120 Fan as a exhaust.

Ok ive just ordered x2 Scythe S-FLEX 1600RPM 120mm fans, Another set of Ultra120 eXtreme fan wire clips to clip the other S-FLEX so ill have two 120 mm fans in a push pull config.

Ive ordered x3 of the pictured Aluminum dust Filters. I'm gonna totally strip the case out give everything a really good clean put the dust filters in, Put the a 120mm antec fan from the CPU cooler onto the back with a dust filter in also sucking in.

I'm gonna have the two 120mm's on the front and the 120mm on the back all sucking in and all with dust filters on. I'm gonna have the 200mm fan on the top as the exhaust fan.

I'm gonna have the my Ultra 120 with the x2 Scythe S-FLEX fans in a push pull config and im gonna turn the CPU cooler around so that the cooler is horizontal in the case and blowing "warm" the air straight onto the 200mm fan at the top of the case.

Well this is the plan. ill put up some before and after temps.

If I remember correctly (if) ,then the optimum distance from filter to fan is 2cm.

Any closer and the fan isn't able to do its job as it should.
